Simple and iconic, this classic logo was used by the Huskies from 1979-1995. Chosen to replace the Sundodger as UW’s mascot in 1922, the Associated Students of the University of Washington felt that a husky was a stronger mascot, and reinforced Seattle’s status as the “gateway to the Alaskan frontier.”
